A Vintage Sandon Hall Wedding
On the 27th of October I photographed Sean and Holly’s truly wonderful Sandon Hall Wedding. Sandon Hall is a country mansion in Stafford, Staffordshire.
Sandon Hall isn’t the type of venue I would describe as purpose built for weddings. Home to the Harrowby family since 1776 and now shared with the occasional party. Sandon Hall is a beautiful venue with unique and beautiful spaces. Holding a dear place in my heart due to shooting there several times before.
Sean and Holly got in touch off a recommendation from one of my best friends. Sean and Holly made it clear they would be very uncomfortable in front of the camera. Meeting twice before their wedding helped to skip the awkward introductions on the day. During the Bride and Groom photographs I improvised and brought the “slightly” intoxicated Best Man along to make them more comfortable. The Best Man managed to keep them laughing and talking to them whilst I focused on capturing some awesome photographs.
The day as a whole was a very emotional day. I’m pretty sure I shed a few tears myself. Brides don’t often do a speech but this time they did. Holly rose and spoke silencing the whole of Sandon Hall with her heartfelt words.
Different parts of the charity had been substituted for a donation to charity which I always think is a fantastic idea. Holly and Sean also asked for donations towards Holly’s Marathon Challenge for the Christie. Holly also chose to donate her wedding dress to charity after the day was over, so it was important she had some beautiful photographs to remember it by.
