Hawkstone Park Follies Engagement Shoot | Lauren & Rob

Lauren & Rob booked me last year to cover their Combermere Abbey wedding this year in November. We had an awesome first meeting on a rainy Sunday in October. They booked and also asked about getting an engagement shoot done also. Obviously a rainy day in October is not my weather and month of choice so we opted to leave it until the sun started to show it’s face again this year.

After much deliberation, a recommendation from one of Lauren’s friends sent us to Hawkstone Park Follies for the shoot. I recently increased the time I spend doing these shoots. I always found an hour too much of a rush so pushed it to two hours. What none of us realised was a walk around Hawkstone Park was at least 2.5 hours. This was a super busy engagement shoot moving from point to point in the hot sun to get full use of the park. Lauren and Rob were really keen to get great photographs so when it came to climbing a 100ft tower’s steps they didn’t stop to think and just charged up the stairs.

Hawkstone Park Follies is a series of monuments, caves and deep woods in Shropshire. Built over 200 years ago and only reopened in 1993 it’s an awesome place with amazing views of the surrounding landscape. I strongly recommend checking this gem out even if it’s just for a wander.
