A Countryside Farm Wedding Venue

There’s something special about a wedding venue which is beautifully nestled in the countryside but still has the smell of burnt rubber from a national motorsport race course.

Planning your special day at Donington Park Farmhouse?

Donington Park Farmhouse is such a beautiful place which I have photographed so many times. I love returning time and time again so why not drop me message and find out a little more?

Behind the Scenes at Donington Park Farmhouse

Through the magic of a 360 camera, I’m able to capture behind-the-scenes content on my wedding days to show my current and future couples exactly what it would like for them to have me along at their Donington Park Farmhouse wedding day

All of these videos and more are captured in the most subtle way making sure to not disrupt the wedding day at all. I feel the connection between a couple and their photographer is a really important factor hence why I wanted to show this part of my work as well. I’m not like every wedding photographer and showing you these behind-the-scenes videos from Donington Park Farmhouse hopefully helps me to reinforce that statement.

If you are still looking at wedding photographers’ websites and have come to Adam’s website, look no further, you’ve found your photographer!

From our initial meeting with Adam right the way through to our wedding he was approachable, helpful and always happy to offer advice when we weren’t sure about things. We initially met over Zoom and after spending 2 hours chatting we knew he was the best person for the job. Closer to the wedding he came over to our house and we discussed the photos we wanted and the logistics of the day

We couldn’t be more pleased with our photographs, they completely encapsulated the joy of the day.

The History of Donington Park Farmhouse

Donington Park Farmhouse is one of those venues that just oozes character. Sitting proudly in the Leicestershire countryside near Castle Donington, it’s surrounded by rolling farmland and feels a world away from the bustle of everyday life. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph several weddings here, and every time I drive up the tree-lined entrance, I get that same feeling of excitement.

The Farmhouse dates all the way back to the 17th century, and it’s still very much a part of the same family estate today. What started life as a working farm has been carefully restored over the years, with the barns and outbuildings transformed into a warm and welcoming wedding venue.

The owners have done an incredible job of maintaining the original features – think exposed brickwork, oak beams, and cobbled courtyards – while adding all the modern comforts that couples expect. You can still feel the history in every corner, from the old Pig Sties (now a quirky and unique bar area) to the grand Threshing Barn that forms the heart of the venue.

It’s rustic, it’s real, and it’s packed full of charm.

Donington Park Farmhouse Weddings

A Donington Park Farmhouse wedding always feels like a home-from-home kind of day. It’s one of those venues that instantly puts everyone at ease. Whether I’m there shooting a small, intimate celebration or a huge party, the atmosphere is always relaxed and full of warmth.

Your wedding day here typically begins in the Farmhouse or Stables, where you can get ready surrounded by beams, light, and the buzz of your closest people. The Threshing Barn is the showstopper for the ceremony – a space filled with rustic texture, high ceilings, and just the right amount of natural light for photographs that look straight out of a film. There are alternative ceremony spaces though, should you have a smaller wedding party.

After the “I do’s,” most couples and guests head into the courtyard for drinks and confetti. I love capturing this part of the day — laughter bouncing off the old brick walls, glasses clinking, and that gorgeous countryside breeze flowing through.

For the wedding breakfast, you’ll move into the Pig Sties, which is all about warmth and character. And when it comes to food, the Farmhouse kitchen is famous for its hearty, locally sourced menus — comfort food done to perfection.

As the sun sets, the Pig Sties Bar becomes the place to be. The courtyard lights up with fairy lights, the music starts, and suddenly you’re in one of the most relaxed, fun party atmospheres you could hope for. It’s that mix of old charm and down-to-earth hospitality that makes Donington Park Farmhouse so special.

Photographing Weddings at Donington Park Farmhouse

I’ve photographed a lot of weddings over the years, but Donington Park Farmhouse is one that never fails to inspire me. Every time I shoot here, I discover something new — a pocket of perfect light, a hidden corner, or a creative angle that gives the photos that extra bit of magic.

The Threshing Barn is a dream to shoot in. The exposed brick and timber create such depth and warmth, and when the light filters through the windows just right, it’s photography heaven. The Oak Barn and the surrounding countryside offer endless backdrops for portraits too — from golden fields to cobbled walkways and ivy-covered walls.

One of my favourite moments is sneaking out with the couple for a few evening shots when the sun’s dipping behind the trees. The glow over the farmland creates such a romantic, natural light — it’s the perfect way to capture that just-married joy before heading back for the party.

If you’re planning your wedding at Donington Park Farmhouse, I’d absolutely love to be there with you to document it all. My approach is relaxed and genuine — I’ll blend in with your guests, capture the real moments as they happen, and make sure your photos tell the full story of your day from start to finish.

This venue truly has it all — history, personality, and that magic countryside vibe. So, if Donington Park Farmhouse is where your love story’s going to unfold, let’s chat about how I can capture it in the way it deserves.

Meet Adam Lowndes

Donington Park Farmhouse Wedding photographer

No matter your race, colour, creed, or sexuality, you are everything to me. I wouldn’t live this incredible photography dream job without you. I can’t help but be your absolute wedding hero.

My couples are usually super down to earth and are planning a relaxed fun wedding day surrounded by all those people they love. I love a party! So when it comes to weddings I can’t help but get wrapped up in the magic of your day. Getting so stuck in with your wedding allows me to translate so much more feeling into my photographs. At some point, you’ll want a few awesome photographs of the two of you. These photographs will take minutes and not hours so we can get straight back to the party. Oh and those family formal portraits, don’t worry about them, they’ll be zero hassle.

With my super extraverted personality I’ll be one of the most excited guests from the moment I arrive. It won’t take your wedding party long to assume we are lifelong friends.
