In the heart of the National Forest, Hanbury Barns Wedding Venue is a charming spot that beautifully blends rustic elegance with modern comforts. The venue as we know it was opened in 2019, but all of its charm and character may have you wondering about its history, so let me fill you in on that! Before it transformed into the charming Hanbury Wedding Barns, the site had a rich history rooted in its agricultural past. The barns, which date back to the 18th century, were originally part of a working farm. The red brick structures were used for various farming activities, including storing grain and housing livestock. The exposed timber frames and rustic architecture that you see today are a testament to their historical use and have been carefully preserved to maintain their original character.

The surrounding land was primarily used for farming, contributing to the local agricultural economy. Over the years, as farming practices evolved and the need for such large barns diminished, the buildings fell into disuse. Recognising the potential of these beautiful structures, the current owners embarked on a restoration project to breathe new life into the barns while preserving their historical essence.

The transformation from a functional farm to the Hanbury Wedding Barns which we know and love today involved extensive renovations. The barns were meticulously restored, ensuring that many of the original features were retained. Modern amenities were added to provide comfort and convenience for wedding celebrations and so, the Hanbury Barns wedding venue was born!
