Owen House Wedding Barn Photography | Belle & David

A Cheshire Micro Wedding

On Christmas Eve Eve I joined Belle & David for their winter wedding at Owen House Wedding Barn. I chatted with Belle soon after she was recommended by a previous couple. The power of word of mouth really is mind-blowing to me. I absolutely love getting a mention and when it involves having my first chance to shoot at Owen House Wedding Barn then I’m all for it.

It was a small intimate day but with all of the fun of a big Owen House wedding as the couple injected their energy into every aspect of it. Using the venue’s Shooting Lodge we were able to capture some really creative stuff in the evening which is so much fun.

Winter Wedding at Owen House

I loved being a part of Belle & David’s micro wedding day at Owen House and would love to do it again. I often venture further afield to photograph weddings and I don’t charge for the pleasure. I find it incredibly exciting actually and really relish the opportunity to shoot within a new space and a new wedding adventure.

My style of wedding photography is built on a great relationship with my couples. All of my weddings are different and unique; even if I was to shoot again at Owen House. Time on your wedding day is really important to me as I’m sure it is for you too. So if I can help it I don’t really want you to miss a thing and would love you to remember as much as possible. This caring and relaxed approach to my wedding photography is the reason why so many couples recommend me. They always say it feels like a friend is taking their photographs and not a photographer.

SHOUT!

Family Owned & Lady Grey

Owen House Wedding Barn gets to boast the fact it’s a family-owned wedding venue which in my experience always makes everything about the wedding venue oh so much more considered and thoughtful. You always know you’re in safe hands at a wedding venue when they are family-owned, take my word for it. Set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside in Mobberley this rustic wedding barn is set on an actual working farm and suits couples who’re looking to bring the great outdoors into their day with a touch of class and fun.

The owners love the wedding bug and after so many successful years with Owen House, they’ve now split their focus over Owen House and their new project, Lady Grey Farm, another exclusive use wedding venue with a very similar vibe to Owen House.

Your Wedding Day At Owen House

Based in Mobberley, Cheshire this exclusive use wedding barn may not have the rich history which some stately homes or country manors have but for the history, it lacks it makes up for in its convenience, ease of use, and client experience for sure. At every step of the journey, Owen House thinks about the couple which then enables them to make their brides and/or grooms wedding days just the most fantastic thing ever.

On the morning of your wedding, Owen House has you both sorted. Whether your a bride or groom you’ll have a dedicated space to shower and get ready before the big day. The Baa-per Shed is located near the entrance to Owen House and features a shower, 40” plasma, vintage table football, and a Smeg beer fridge to keep those pre-wedding nerves settled and cool. Owen House has also teamed up with Bert & Bert barbers to offer an onsite barbering service in the Baa-BER Shed all based around the most gorgeous of Belmont Barbers Chairs. Then over the complete opposite end to the Baa-BER Shed is the Beauty Shed which is a light and airy space to unwind. Complete with salon chairs, mirrors, booth seating, bathroom, and Cloud 9 hairdryers. It’s even got a beautiful space to spotlight your wedding dress before the big reveal.

When it comes to the Your Ceremony team making it official Owen House has the ideal setting with their gorgeous Ceremony Room. They can host up to 120 seated and then add a further 30 standing so they should be able to squeeze absolutely everyone in. The room has such a great style with metal farm walling as well as wooden bench seating and features throughout the walls including hanging doors at the head of the aisle.

Following the wedding ceremony, you can take your wedding reception drinks at the front courtyard of the venue or filter into The Barn. A huge bar serves all your needs and more. Following the drinks reception, you’ll be invited to take a seat for the wedding breakfast in The Barn where the rest of the evening will unfold. The Barn can host up to 190 people seated so it’s a great space to fit any size wedding within. This flies up to 250 people in the evening to really get the party started.

Food-wise, Vanilla in All Seasons will have you covered here handcrafting a bespoke menu to suit all taste buds and dining styles whether it’s a formal sit-down meal or more of a banquet or bbq style they’ll have you covered.

The Secret Break Out Room is a unique and much-loved space at Owen House. It’s a chance for you to take a short break away from the rest of the party to just have a chat or sit in silence and enjoy the quiet time. It’s also the perfect space to view the goings-on in the Shooting Gallery if the bride and/or groom have escaped for a little photo magic.

When it comes to the end of the party you won’t have to go far as Owen House has a gorgeous onsite honeymoon suite titled The Birds And The Bees. Complete with the most lavish of decor and continuing the rustic vibe which the whole venue boasts. There is so much space here including a bathroom sitting room and a huge bedroom making your wedding night and wedding morning the ultimate relaxed affair.

Many wedding couples want to host their friends and family on-site also. Owen House has the perfect option with The Tens. Luxury individually themed guest accommodation just a stone’s throw away from the wedding day. There are only eight of them though so you’ll have to select your most loved one carefully. New for 2020 thought is The Chicken Coops which are a more spacious studio feel to The Tens. If you want the classic B&B option though then you’re welcome to stay in The Farmhouse B&B which has three spacious rooms for unwinding in a true country style.

Full Creative Control in the Shooting Gallery

For a full creative portrait session, no one does it better than Owen House. The Shooting Gallery is a bespoke photography space with exclusive access for just the bride and/or groom to have their most incredible of wedding portraits taken. Almost like a film set The Shooting Gallery has various props including rustic ladders and vintage cinema seating. Couple these props with their wall decor which includes star cloths, rustic doors, plants, light and dark wood paneling to backdrop any of your photographic ideas. The biggest feature though is a huge blank wall which a projector can cast images over. It really is the most magical space and if that wasn’t enough then there’s a disco ball to have a private dance together before the real thing unfolds.

There are so many reasons to love being an Owen House Barn wedding photographer that it’s hard to just name one. For me, the decor throughout is intentional and often is the perfect contrast to any wedding look and feel. It’s almost like getting a fully decorated wedding venue where alls you need to do is add a couple of things to make it look a little more you.
