One Percent

As part of an initiative started in 2020 I’m promising to donate 1% of my profits every year to social and environmental good causes within the cities of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-Under-Lyme.

Why?

Born and raised on the borderline of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-Under-Lyme in Staffordshire I never imagined a future where I would continue to live just five minutes from where I grew up. I thought for sure I would move away to some far-flung place but as I grew I knew this incredible position within our country was right where I needed to be.

The city and its people have always been supportive of my dreams and I feel an incredible sense of pride to say I’m from this clay moulded landscape. I often travel the length and breadth of the UK to photograph weddings but every time I come home I know I’m right where I should be.

I’d like to pay back the support I’ve received over the years which has enabled me to get to where I am now and it was upon reading Let My People Go Surfing By Yvon Chouinard that I adapted their 1% For The Planet to become my 1% for Local Social and Environmental Issues initiative.

How?

It’s really simple. Every year come the end of the tax year I’ll take 1% of my profits and donate it to a local social and environmental good cause with no caveat to how it should be allocated.

Know A Local Social Or Environmental Good Cause?

I have a pool of ideas on who to allocate the donation to but I’m keen to know of more social or environmental good causes which I can support in the cities of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-Under-Lyme. So if you happen to know of any or represent one then please get in touch and let me know.
