Carden Park Wedding Photography

Updated 2022

Carden Park is a busy wedding venue with two possibilities of spaces to actually have your wedding day within. They also boast an incredible outdoor space on their front lawn overlooking their golf course perfect for outdoor wedding ceremonies. I’ve worked at Carden Park many times over the last year and love it. I especially love going round the golf course in the evening via the buggy enabling us to cover a lot of ground and see a lot of different viewpoints in the golden sun which is perfect for wedding portraits.

Multiple Weddings at Carden Park

Living just over an hour away from Carden Park Hotel & Spa means it’s a popular wedding venue for me and my work. I’ve returned a few times over the years and always love shooting new couples within its grounds. There’s always so much opportunity for great photography within the acres of space it offers.

My style of wedding photography is built on a great relationship with my couples. All of my weddings are different and unique; even if I was to shoot again at the same venue like Carden Park. Time on your wedding day is really important to me as I’m sure it is to you too. So if I can help it I don’t really want you to miss a thing and would love you to remember as much as possible. This caring and relaxed approach to my wedding photography is the reason why so many couples recommend me. They always say it feels like a friend is taking their photographs and not a photographer.

History Meets Luxury in this Stunning Cheshire Hotel & Spa

Set amongst a 1000 acre estate, Carden Park Hotel & Spa is one of the premier wedding venues in Cheshire. After a vast hotel room refurb in 2017 they went on to win Wedding Venue of the Year in 2018. Following on from their win in 2018 Carden Park didn’t wait around and grabbed the paint brush to refurb The Shooting Suite soon afterwards bringing the whole estate into modern day luxury which many expect of it.

Making your way along the small country lane of Broxton Road in Clutton you’ll happen upon a very grand entrance you never saw coming. Turning into the gated estate you’ll then make your way up the mile long sweeping drive passing through beautifully landscaped grounds and then the Nicklaus golf course, the first of 2 championship golf courses before arriving at the brand new state of the art spa and hotel main building.

This behemoth of a hotel didn’t start this way though. Carden Park Hotel was originally a very elegant smaller hall built in the 17th century when the Leche family acquired the land. The land was originally used to stock deer for shooting holidays for the family but met a sudden change of fate when it was ransacked by Cromwell’s troops. Luckily the hall survived this first blow but in 1912 it met it’s eventual end as it burnt down in a fire.

Fast forward to present day and the estate was acquired by Steve Morgan and opened as an independent hotel with the current main building in 1997. The current main Carden Park building reprises part of the original timber frame build in it’s design whilst keeping the modern expectations of a hotel. Rather than deer you can now find pheasants, moorhens, foxes, badgers and swans wandering the estate.

As well as 2 golf courses and many weddings Carden Park also boasts a 3 acre vineyard which produces over 3000 bottles of wine a year. Their newest and most boldest venture is the opening of The Spa at Carden which is a brand new to 2020 luxury spa. Designed by HB Architects and Interior Desigsns with a huge budget of over £10 million spent this is the perfect add on to the their thriving wedding business.

If you’re worried about being isolated to Carden Park then I can assure you they’ve thought about variation to great lengths. You’re only 30 minutes from Chester town centre but should you prefer to stay on the stunning countryside estate then their are 4 options for you to relax and dine. The more formal Redmonds with executive head chef Graham Tirsley has won an AA rosette award and is surely not to be missed. Then there is The Vines which is inspired by the vineyard on site whilst keeping more an informal vibe. But if it’s just a drink and a nibble you’re after then you can drop into Morgans Bar or stop off at Jacks Clubhouse after finishing a round of golf.

Whether it’s golf, wine, relaxation, country walks, wild life or even tree top adventures, Carden Park Hotel has got it all and I doubt you’ll even make it out to Chester when there is so much on your immediate doorstep.

1,000 acres of Wedding Bliss at Carden Park

Just as with it’s dining options Carden Park boasts the ability to host any type of wedding tailoring their 1000 acre estate to just two people. Any couples dreams can come tree at this stunning countryside wedding venue. With Flawless Perfection, Carden’s own wedding planning team, on hand to bring the magic alive for you. They can see to even the most bespoke requirements and offer a range of packages including the Eternity and Fairytale which can satisfy even the fussiest of couples.

At Carden they have two dedicated spaces separated away from the main hotel which can host your dream day. They have The Shooting Suite which is a modern day reimagining of just that. It can host up 120 people with it’s oak beams and open fire places creating the most romantic setting for your love to unfold.

Then there is the Garden Suite which is vastly bigger space giving room to cater up to 320 people with its beautiful decor and impressive optical mirrors which turn into state of the art screens to play a wedding slideshow on them.

If you’re after an outdoor Cheshire wedding then Carden Park can also offer this with their beautiful dedicated outdoor ceremony space beneath it’s stunningly breathtaking Wedding Gazebo. Just imagine saying “I Do” in this licensed space engulfed by beautiful gardens and blue skies.

You can choose to stay over the night before your wedding at Carden Park to get the full experience by using one of the 198 bedrooms the hotel boasts. With this many rooms none of your guests will have to stay elsewhere keeping the party going for that much longer in the evening.

As well as getting married on the front lawn beneath The Wedding Gazebo you can also have your drinks reception out here before returning to either The Shooting Suite or The Garden Suite for your wedding breakfast and wedding speeches. In the evening you can enjoy the immediate outdoor terrace space or private bar linked with your chosen suite whilst the dance floor comes together. Then it’s yours again to party the night away.

A Super Easy Wedding Venue to Photograph At

Being a wedding photographer at Carden Park Hotel is such an easy process. The team Flawless Perfection along with their usual Toastmaster, Chris Caroe, run the whole day down to a tee. Guiding guests in the right directions and making sure bubbly and that celebratory atmosphere is on hand at all times. This dream team allows me to sit back and capture the moments of the day in their rawest forms which is my favourite way to capture any wedding day.

With loads of stunning gardens there is more than enough ample room to take all the family portraits you require and you can even setup a big group shot on the giant stone staircase which descends from the hotel into the gardens.

Later on in the day you can have the opportunity to explore the 1000 acres of stunning countryside whilst taking any couples portraits you may like. This is all done from the comfort of a golf buggy so we’re able to fit a lot more locations for photographs in. My favourite of them all is the stunning outlook you get from the 18th hole at the top of the second golf course which overlooks the whole of the Carden Park estate. With the sun setting in the same direction you can’t help but feel engulfed in the romantic moments this Cheshire wedding venue creates.

All of these awesome features make photographing a wedding at Carden Park Hotel the most joyous of jobs with limited stress and more and more fun.
