Wetley Moor Common Engagement Shoot | Natalie & Sam

Returning To My Favourite Woodland

Natalie and Sam booked me for their wedding day at Heaton House Barn for 2022 way back in 2020 and to calm Natalie’s nerves they also booked an engagement shoot as she like most is a little filled with dread about having her photograph taken. As I always explain you don’t NEED an engagement shoot but it sure does help calm the nerves if you have them. So, Natalie, Sam and I met at Wetley Moor Common one rainy day at the start of May 2021.

I do so many engagement shoots that it’s often nice to take a different route somewhere I’ve been before or shoot at somewhere completely fresh. when Natalie mentioned Wetley Moor Common in Werrington it didn’t take long for me to say yes! Jointly managed by Staffordshire Moorlands and Stoke-on-Trent City Council these seventy hectares are of special scientific interest for its low heathland and mining history dating back to the 1600s so as you can imagine the landscape is vast and very interesting to photograph.

In the end, I managed to put Natalie’s fears to bed and we caught some incredible photographs which really show her and Sam off at their best.

Are you planning an engagement shoot at Wetley Moor Common?

I love photographing engagement shoots, especially in Wetley Moor as I believe such a defining moment needs to be celebrated in the most beautiful places. Just shout and we can start planning your shoot.
